Vic wins Adelaide Cup

Real Simple was the only Victorian greyhound to contest tonight’s Group 1 Adelaide Cup, but he did the Big V proud with a stunning all-the-way win.

A brilliant beginner trained by Seona Thompson, Real Deal did what he does best, finding the early lead and scoring a memorable win.

Competing in his first ever group final in start number 51 win (22 wins), Real Simple claimed the $75,000 first prize, paying $4.80 for the win over Bogie Bullet and Honcho Monelli.

Hot favourite Fabwik ($2.60), who was the fastest heat winner by five lengths and lined up in box one in the final, was crowded early and finished fourth.

WATCH: Real Simple (3) leads all the way in the Adelaide Cup in 29.69sec.
