Time running out to nominate your greyhound for 2017 Ready 2 Race Sales

Nominations for GRV’s 2017 Ready 2 Race Sales are significantly lower than in previous years, meaning the series needs your eligible greyhounds to ensure it proceeds.

Greyhound breeders have until Thursday’s deadline for nominations for the event, which is scheduled to be held at Lords Raceway in Bendigo on November 13 (heats) and 18 (finals & auction).

If you own a greyhound that was born in Victoria between 1st July 2015 and 30th June 2016 that you are thinking about selling, there are sure to be plenty of cashed-up bidders ready to buy.

Buyers invested a total of $355,600 at the 2016 R2R Greyhound Sales – an average of $4,284 among the 83 greyhounds sold. The top selling greyhound last year was Lucky (now racing as Lucky Love), who was purchased for $31,000, while another seven greyhounds sold for more than $10,000. And with fewer greyhounds in the specified age bracket this time around, bidding is expected to be more competitive than ever.

Nominations for the 2017 Ready 2 Race Greyhound Sales close this Thursday, 28 September at 4pm. To nominate a greyhound for this event please contact GRV’s Member Services on (03) 8329 1100 with the following details: owner’s name and member number, greyhound’s race name (if named), kennel name, ear brand, microchip number, any abnormalities with the greyhound and payment details.

Please note that in 2017, a $50 nomination fee, payable by credit card at the time of nomination will apply. The nomination fee will then be deducted from any commission payable to GRV for any sold greyhounds.

For further information on GRV’s 2017 Ready 2 Race Greyhound Sales call (03) 8329 1185 or email [email protected].
