VIDEOS: Sapphire Crown, Harrison-Dawson Highlights

Sandown Park produced a memorable night of greyhound racing on Thursday with two Group 1 finals won by trainers landing their first group race victories with greyhounds they bred themselves.

Narralee won the $145,000 Sapphire Crown (515m), a race for female sprinters, for trainer Steve Creighton (Giffard West) after scraping into last week’s heats having initially been named as a reserve.

It was a similar situation in the Group 1 Harrison-Dawson, for male greyhounds, with Dundee Osprey saluting for trainer Geoff Scott-Smith (Pakenham South) as the 25/1 outsider.
