MEADOWS PREVIEW: Night of the Hudson Pacific Final

Racing begins at 7.18pm with a fixture of 12 races set down for decision from The Meadows on Saturday night and once again I think there is definitely a few greyhounds to keep an eye on.

With an exciting start to his career, Demon Bale lines up for his fourth outing in the second race of the night. Exiting box 3, Demon Bale appears ideally drawn, with a hard railer in box 2 on his inside (Darpa Bale) and some relatively slow beginners on his outside, so with that in mind I’ll be expecting a trouble-free run for this promising young talent.

The sixth race of the night is the Hudson Pacific Final for the fifth grade stayers from heats conducted last week. Kilkee Flex looks set to lead for a very long way and I’ll be backing her to stave off all challenges late. After a smart 42.81 heat win (Replay), the Peter Dapiran trained stayer looks the goods to claim the $12,000 first prize.

The following event (race 7) also carries the same prize money and I think the consistent Zigstar can cause  a minor upset in the fifth grade sprint final.

Late in the night I’m keen on Cashin’ In who’s drawn the red in race 10. The Sharp trained chaser has a really good record over the 525m around The Meadows and also boasts a slashing 29.80 PB. With some great early pace on his immediate outside, Cashin’ In looks set to endure a perfect run throughout which should have him living up to his name.

The last event is set to run at 11.07pm – it’s good luck and happy punting!
