Metro Wrap: Cash Cut Loose

James Van de Maat gave the heads up that Cut Loose Max could ‘send punters home with their pockets full’ in his Sandown Park Preview last Thursday night, and his prediction came to fruition. Sold for $6,250 at the 2014 Ready 2 Race Sales, Cut Loose Max won at the huge odds of $15.30. Here is James’ wrap of the weekend’s metro racing…
.
.
The metro racing in Victoria began on Wednesday with a twelve race program and it’s hard to go past Small One as the win of the day (Replay). After tailing out last at the post with a lap to go, the now Rob Britton prepared stayer recorded a sensational last to first win running away in 35.39. Despite the time being only moderate her win was super impressive and she does look set to rack up some nice wins over the 700m+.

Ice Toronado  was by far the longest price winner of the day railing home to a 30.56 win at a staggering $49.90 for former headmaster Janis Rinaldi.

Thursday night racing at Sandown Park produced some impressive wins once again, none more-so then Angie Rocks who produced her trademark come from behind style to win the ‘Peter Rocket Damsels Dash’ final in 29.43. (Replay)

The Warragul to City sprint final was won by  Our Zayney Nash  in 29.59 to continue his great form since joining the Kelly Bravo kennel whilst the stayers final was won by the Calder Cannon in 41.90 who as expected is owned by a few fellas from the Calder Cannon’s football club. The night wrapped up with Cut Loose Max jumping beautifully and leading all of the way to win the last as tipped last week at a staggering $15.30. What a juicy juicy JUICY pocket filling way to finish the night.

Saturday night from The Meadows produced some exciting racing with Weblec Belle returning from a podium finish in the ‘WA Oaks’ the week before, to record a  smashing all the way win in 29.86 to kick start the night. (Replay)

With plenty of finals on the card the order of the night was competitive racing with Schumacher gunning down To The Galo’s to win the Ballarat to City sprint final in 30.27 whilst the stayers event saw Seeking Justice open up his bank at The Meadows over the 725m with a come from behind win in 43.00.

Mendes pinged into the early lead running the Shepparton to The Meadows final ragged.  After setting a flying first section of 4.96, the Mark Delbridge prepared chaser was not for catching leading all of the way in 30.45 (Replay).

To close out the week of metro racing Sandown Park held the usual 12 race program and the time honours were held by the former Sydney sider George Sanetter  who racked up a flying Victorian debut win in 29.45. After a solid beginning the son of Cosmic Rumble put the race to bed down the back with a dominant seven length win (Replay).

That’s another week of great greyhound racing.
