May Greyhound Of The Month

Five greyhounds are in the running for May’s People’s Choice Most Popular Greyhound.

Victorian-bred greyhounds who win a Group 1, 2 or 3 race during each month will automatically be up for voting.


The greyhounds in the running for the May Greyhound of the Month are as follows:

Group wins in May: Group 2 Harrison Dawson (515m) at Sandown Park.
Description: Was a main player in Sandown Park’s May Carnival winning the Group 2 Harrison Dawson and the Group Listed Cup Night Sprint. Has grown into a super consistent sprinter with 20 wins and 12 placings from just 41 career starts.

Group wins in May: Group 3 Bert Bryant Memorial (515m) at Sandown Park.
Description: Started off the month in great fashion winning the Bert Bryant Memorial and also ran 2nd in the Group 2 Harrison Dawson. Has developed into a consistent group class greyhound.

Description: The South Australian-bred greyhound jumped last before reeling home to win the all-female Sapphire Crown over litter sister Oakvale Flyer. Is not yet two years of age so she looks to have a huge future.

Group wins in May: Group 1 RSN Sandown Cup (715m) at Sandown Park.
Description: The powerful stayer had favourite backers in a frenzy when she came from last to win the Group 1 RSN Sandown Cup on 22 May, four weeks after winning the Group 1 Association Cup in Sydney. Is arguably the best stayer in Australia right now.
