Traralgon To Close For Redevelopment

Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) wishes to advise its members that the Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club will close for redevelopment this Thursday 29 May.

GRV, the Club and the State Government are currently in discussions about the exact nature of the redevelopment and further details and timelines for the works will be announced shortly.

While Traralgon is closed for works, there will be no effect on the number of meetings conducted by GRV. Recognising the need to cater for local trainers, GRV has programmed extra meetings at Cranbourne and Warragul while Healesville and Sale will pick up some day meetings as a result of the closure.

GRV Chief Executive, Adam Wallish, commented that the track redevelopment is significant for the area and that the organisation has endeavoured to make the transition as smooth as possible for local trainers.

“With the imminent closure of the Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club for redevelopment, it has become very important to communicate our plans to cater for local trainers that will be affected.”

“We have programmed various meetings at tracks that are closest to Traralgon to ensure that trainers who regularly race at the track aren’t unduly impacted and don’t have to travel too far to race their greyhounds.”

“It is also very important to emphasise that the number of meetings and races we conduct will remain the same so we aren’t expecting any adverse wagering impact.”

“This redevelopment will be very important for the area and for greyhound racing generally and we look forward to announcing further details about the specifics of the plan in the near future.”

The GRV Racing Calendar is available on the GRV website and can be accessed here: https://fasttrack.grv.org.au/Meeting
