Can’t Beat This Feeling

Braden Finn, Manager of the Two Bears Syndicate which owns Sweet It Is, was strong in his encouragement of greyhound ownership in his acceptance speech after Thursday night’s Group 1 RSN Sandown Cup.

The Two Bears Syndicate purchased Sweet It Is from top breeder Lenny Jones two months ago for an unconfirmed figure believed to be over $100,000, and she has since won two Group 1 races totalling $250,000 in stake earnings.

“If you’re thinking about buying a greyhound, even if it’s just a five per cent share, just do it, because you can’t beat this feeling,” Finn said in the moments after the Sandown Cup, which is the world’s richest staying race.

“I felt like a winner before I even got here tonight because being part of a big race like this is unbelievable.”

“I closed my eyes at the start of the race, then I briefly opened them as the greyhounds came around the first corner and saw she (Sweet It Is) was second last, so I closed my eyes again and kept them closed for the remainder of the race until some bloke started cuddling me and I realised she won.”

Greyhound Racing Victoria is set to launch its new website over the coming weeks which will incorporate an easy step-by-step guide into greyhound ownership.
