Go The Pink Dog Delight!

The 2014 Go The Pink Dog campaign exceeded expectations with 138 greyhounds wearing the pink number eight rug winning across Victoria throughout the month of April.

The month long fundraiser, now in its fifth year, saw $69,000 raised as each winner earned a $500 from Greyhound Racing Victoria to the McGrath Foundation, whose aim is to make young Australian women ‘breast aware’ and to place more McGrath Breast Care Nurses into communities right across Australia.

$60,000 was seen as a realistic target for the month, however that figure was blown out of the water.

In further good news, the Sandown and Bendigo greyhound race clubs have donated $20,000 and $1,500 respectively to the campaign, making the combined donation from Victorian greyhound racing up to $90,500 for the month.

Go The Pink Dog has raised more the $350,000 for the McGrath Foundation since it began in 2010.
