Sandown The Place To Be This Thursday Night

A barnstorming finish in his heat helped Texas Titan storm into this Thursday night’s $58,000 Group 2 Launching Pad final at Sandown Park.

Texas Titan began poorly from box seven, however was able to muster quickly to improve to midfield through the first turn.

Weaving his way through the field, Texas Titan found clear air down the back straight and set out after early leaders Lady Goldenpaw and Fully Charged, sweeping by them on the turn for home and powering to the line by an ever increasing 3.5 lengths in 29.57 seconds.

Despite his charge’s win in the fastest time of the night, trainer Jeff Britton was measured when assessing the run.

“It’s hard to gauge given it has rained all night,” the Anakie based trainer said. “He was never going to lead from that box so it was great to see him developing a bit of track sense since he’s always going to have to come from behind in his races.”
