MEPUNGA DUO TOP PICKS

TAB has opened up a fixed odds market for Wednesday’s TAB Great Chase Grand Final (525m) at The Meadows, with the Jeff Britton-trained litter brothers Mepunga Fearon and Mepunga Armagh short in betting.

Interestingly, the rank outsider in the race is Bill Baillie at $41.00, who with 45 starts to his name is easily the most experienced greyhound in the race.

Trainer Allan George said that while his greyhound was entitled to be long odds, he could run a cheeky race.

“The thing about Bill Baillie is that he was educated at The Meadows, so he knows the track really well which could give him a bit of an advantage against such an inexperienced field.”

“His best winning time at the track is 30.58sec, but he has trialled there in 30.17sec which is pretty competitive,” said the Darraweit Guim trainer.
