HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH FOR RACING GREYHOUNDS?

Once upon a time trainers would walk their greyhounds all over the streets of Melbourne.

However, in the past 20 years the art of galloping has become the preferred exercise option and as such the majority of trainers have moved on to larger properties in regional areas.

But when it comes to exercising race dogs in between races, how much galloping is too much?

Sandhurst trainer Gary Ennis (above) says trainers have different opinions about this, and that there are no hard and fast rules.
