DERBY DELIGHT

The Jason Thompson-trained Whata Good Size collected a $20,300 first prize in the rich Western Derby final (450m) at Ballarat last night.

After Nic Nat Nui had led, Whata Good Size won in a tight finish over Cuzin Bob.

Whata Good Size won in the smart time of 25.25sec, and he has now had five starts for three wins and 2 placings.

The win continued Thompson’s exceptional recent run, including winning the Healesville Cup this month with El Brooklyn and having the 2nd & 3rd placegetters in last Saturday night’s Group 1 Temlee.
