FIREBALL EXPLODES IN CUP FINAL


Destini Fireball delivered Norm Rinaldi his first Group 1 success in the Sale Cup

An incredible victory in the $107,000 Gold 1242 Sale Cup by Destini Fireball (Box 3 – $3.30) has given trainer Norm Rinaldi his first Group 1 triumph as a greyhound trainer.

It has been a remarkable year for Rinaldi as the two brood matrons – Greys Destiny and Greys Lemon Ice – he purchased while holidaying with wife Janis in the United States have produced two outstanding litters. It was the third Group success of the year for Rinaldi, after claiming the Group 2 Harrison-Dawson with General Destini and the Group 3 Launching Pad with Five Paws both at Sandown Park earlier in the year.

Destini Fireball has been a revelation since returning from injury, running second in the Group 1 Hume Cup at The Meadows and now winning the Group 1 Sale Cup.
