SCORCHING SILVER CHIEF HEAT WINNER

The Jason Thompson-trained Proven Nitro has stormed into outright favouritism for the Group 1 AJS Silver Chief after a magnificent 29.59sec heat win last night.

The time was the equal second fastest recorded over the 525-metre journey, joining kennelmate Boris Fields as one of three greyhounds to break 29.60sec at the Broadmeadows circuit.

Proving he is blessed with speed and strength, the black chaser ran home in a super 11.96sec to finish with a time standard achieved by so few.
