On 11 September 2012, a bill to amend the Racing Act 1958 was passed through parliament. Please find attached a full copy of the Racing Legislation Amendment Bill 2012.
Attention is drawn to clause 13 of the bill, which amends section 83K (3) of the principal act. This amendment provides that an application made to the Racing Integrity Commissioner to consider directing the GRV RADB to hear an appeal against a decision of a fine of not more than $250 must be made by 5pm on the third day after the day the person receives notice of the decision that the person would like to appeal.
These amendments took effect as of Wednesday, 26 September.
