Greyhound Racing Victoria is proud to announce the launch of a new automated text messaging (SMS) service for Victorian Greyhound Trainers on Monday, 12th July, 2010.  

How does it work? 

1. If you are a registered Victorian trainer, have a valid mobile phone number recorded against your registration and nominate your greyhound(s) for a Victorian meeting, then you're ready to go.

2. Immediately after a Box-draw is finalized, a message will be automatically sent to the mobile phone number of only the Trainers that nominated for that particular meeting (as long as details are correct on your registration).

3. The text message will indicate the MEETING, the DOG name and the box-draw details, even if your dog didn't get a start.

4. Text messages (SMS) are limited in the length of messages that can be sent.  If you nominated more than 1 dog for a particular meeting, as many dogs as possible will be sent in a single message.  If they don't all fit, a 2nd, 3rd, etc text message will be received.  Usually, 4-5 dogs will appear in a single message.

5. If you do not want to continue receiving all future text messages, simply reply to any of the messages with the word 'STOP' and this will stop messages being sent through in the future.
