Microchipping Update

From January 1, 2012 all Victorian greyhounds must be micro-chipped in order to nominate for ANY Victorian race meeting.

Greyhound Racing Victoria has now micro-chipped close to 10,000 greyhounds in preparation for the January 1, 2012 deadline that will see all Victorian greyhounds requiring a valid micro-chip to race in Victoria.

A microchip can be purchased for $15.00 through GRV's Member Services Department on 03 8329 1139. This price includes postage to any Victorian VET clinic.

Individual chip purchase

For a cost of $15 each, participants can purchase chips for their greyhounds (this covers the chip, the registry/paperwork & postage)

The chip(s) will be mailed to your nominated vet
(vet must be located in Victoria)

Participants are to negotiate the cost of implant with the vet
(Please ask vet for cost BEFORE purchasing chip)

Aimed at those with one or two dogs who can't get to the track sessions, or who specifically want their own vet to micro-chip their greyhounds.
