Oaks Road [$5.80] has won the $140,000 to-the-winner Perth Cup [530m] with Victorians Lektra Jay [$28.00] and Autoamerican [$23.70] filling the minor placings.
Trained in NSW by Mark Gatt, Oaks Road shot straight to the front from box 2 and was never headed as others found trouble behind him.
Oaks Road, a NSW GOTY finalist has been in brilliant form of late, winning the Group 2 Bob Payne Memorial at Wentworth Park last month.
NOTE: Lektra Jay & Heston Bale are both trained by Andrea Dailly while Autoamerican is prepared by Steve McKenna.
Meanwhile, at The Gardens on Friday night, NSW greyhound Midnight Capers defeated Victoria's By Starlight [Mick Fearnley] to claim the $75,000 to-the-winner National Futurity.
Australia's greyhound racing attention now turns to the $800,000 Australian Cup Carnival, as Victoria welcomes the nations stars in an unrivalled three week period of exciting racing.
