Roy Maidment [Pioneer]
Roy Maidment lived for the sport of greyhound racing. He was the first ever Greyhound Racing Control Board Secretary in its formative years and personally lodged £500 into the Board bank account to allow it to commence operating. He also helped form the Australian and New Zealand Greyhound Association (ANZGA) in 1937 and was integral in coordinating the subsequent production of our greyhound breeding bible, the Greyhound Stud Book since 1940. The Victorian greyhound industry would not be where it is today without the contribution of Roy Maidment.
