As a young lady Margaret Thomas trained Nigger Chimes to win the 1975 Silver Chief Classic. Margaret was a Traralgon GRC committee member for 10 years, prior to being elected President. During this time she played a pivotal role in one of the sport's greatest PR exercises, the Dalkeith story. In 2004, she recieved the Ken Carr Medal for her outstanding contribution to greyhound racing. Margaret is considered one of greyhound racing's 'first ladies' and is certainly someone that has paved the way for more women to take an active role in the industry.
