The queen of greyhound racing during the 1960s, Cheltenham Lass raced exclusively at Victoria's two metropolitan tracks, Olympic Park and Sandown Park. She won the 1965 Laurels, but was unfortunately runner-up in the 1965 Melbourne Cup, and both the 1966 and 1967 Australian Cups. There certainly wasn't a more deserving winner of the Group 1 Melbourne Cup when Cheltenham Lass was first past the post in 1966.
